Great exercises. We didn’t see your abs though :S

6 mins per day for how many days? What if I was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge?

  5. kmoe 06. Dec, 2007 at 1:50 am #

Its actually 12 to 18 minutes per day!

Try educating yourself. You must lose your fat to have “six pack” abs. You may make your abs stronger but with several layers of fat over them, it wouldn’t really matter, would it? You’re not going to see your abs unless you exercise enough to lose the fat covering them.

  7. Merks 06. Dec, 2007 at 11:54 pm #

“To save time… do each exercise to failure”

Do you have ANY IDEA how much that will make doing them difficult? You’re using most of the same muscles to do these exercises. If you do one set till you can’t do it anymore, what makes you think you will be able to get even 20 on ANY of the others?

It looks like a good workout, aside from that. How long between repetitions? (“repeat 2-3 times”)

  8. zaya 07. Dec, 2007 at 2:27 am #

doesnt matter how big or small you are, you still have muscles in your body that can be worked out. if you want to start losing weight, here’s a good place to start is with exercise, combined with decent nutrition you’ll be losing weight in no time.

by the way, great ab video i’ll definitely be doing this in the morning. thanks.

  9. kentrel 09. Dec, 2007 at 5:59 pm #

This is bullshit. This guy has terrible form. These exercises should be done SLOWLY, and with full concentration so that only the abs are used.

His version of the reverse crunch is utterly stupid, and you can clearly see his arms are doing most of the work. How utterly stupid of him.

This guy is using momentum and gravity for the majority of these exercises. Don’t take this guy’s advice. look up the names of these exercises and you’ll find the correct way to do them.

The exercises themselves are good, provided you use PROPER form, correct BREATHING, and SLOW, CONTROLLED movements, not jumping jack shit like this fool is doing.

being a personal trainer, this guy is doing everything fine, don’t listen to morons like kentrel

Sorry THERA but you’re wrong. You will still build 6 pack abs but if you’re a fatty you won’t be able to see them. You can strengthen your abs no matter what body shape you have. Then all you need to do is loose the fat (no magic here just eat less and exercise more) and your ALREADY toned abs will show through!!

  12. Flat Stomach Girl 15. Dec, 2007 at 7:23 am #

These exercises are great, but as was previously pointed out – exercises are not enough to get a flat stomach and six pack abs.

Abdominal exercises workout your ab muscles but if you have belly fat covering them you will never see your six pack.

To get rid of belly fat you need to adjust your eating habits and do some cardio to burn the fat that is already there.

Once the fat layer on your stomach begins to disappear you will start seeing the results of your exercises.

  13. monster 15. Dec, 2007 at 11:07 am #

Actually, all except the crunch exercise were hip-flexor movements. The leg-raise is more effective as a hanging leg-raise. The cycle serves to “re-balance” the frontal and dorsal musculature – much as a “superman” or “paddle your legs and arms” while on your stomach does. Besides, what are this guy’s credentials? And another thing, what works for one does not work for all. Nothing like a routine to make the exercise boring. Also, body fat has to be less than 10%. That means cardio and lots of it along with a strict diet. Then after you do all that work and get ill for abouit a week, you blow up like a cow. Face it – you’re never gonna look like the cover a magazine unless its your job. You’re chasing a rainbow. So stop asking so many questions and just do it. Nerds.

Oh! six pack abs, great tips. i’d like to see before and after photos. :) It’s ok for me 6 minutes per day. Let’s me know if i want to exchange link with you, thanks.

Try not arching your back when you lower your legs, and then see much more you will really get our of the exercise! It looks like you are using more lower back than anything.

hey, just stumbled this site, some nice ab exercises here. I recently wrote an ab article on my blog with some fresh ideas: http://www.hotbodytraining.com/the-secret-to-sexy-abs/

  18. Daniel 18. Dec, 2007 at 11:44 am #

Underneath all this flab, I am ripped!

  19. Chris 18. Dec, 2007 at 10:07 pm #

This is quite similar to the workout I use. Mine is a bit shorter and skips most of the reverse crunches. But from experience this works!

Although there are better ways to get your abs in shape without ever doing a single crunch, but you have to be MUCH more active than 6 minutes.

  20. Muffman 25. Dec, 2007 at 9:11 pm #

Nice workout, but has anyone else noticed that a couch isn’t necessary for any of these exercises? Seems an odd gimmick.

  21. Steve 26. Dec, 2007 at 7:53 pm #

abs will only show if you have less fat. abs are more about eating right. you cant see the muscle if there’s fat lying on top of it already.

  22. Dan 19. Feb, 2008 at 1:41 pm #

wow this site is horrible… way to mislead your followers. truth is, the exercises are great. but if you want a six pack you gotta be under 10% body fat for boys and 13% for girls on average. also do not do these every day or else you will over train your abs and actually weaken your muscles instead of strengthen them. anyone who tells u to train abs every day does not have experience. SO… follow their routine at most every other day, eat a healthy diet and exercise. thats the only way your gonna get sexy 6 packs for the beach!

  23. Suzann 26. Feb, 2008 at 7:52 pm #

I like it and am going to include it in my daily routine. For me, just “doing it” is the most important aspect of all this. Just moving every day, even if it’s dancing or climbing stairs. But I’m excited about getting my abs looking good. Thanks!

Hitchhiker: You heard of this thing, the 8-Minute Abs?
Ted: Yeah, sure, 8-Minute Abs. Yeah, the excercise video.
Hitchhiker: Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 7… Minute… Abs.
Ted: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you’re going.
Hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin’ there, there’s 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?
Ted: I would go for the 7.
Hitchhiker: Bingo, man, bingo. 7-Minute Abs. And we guarantee just as good a workout as the 8-minute folk.
Ted: You guarantee it? That’s – how do you do that?
Hitchhiker: If you’re not happy with the first 7 minutes, we’re gonna send you the extra minute free. You see? That’s it. That’s our motto. That’s where we’re comin’ from. That’s from “A” to “B”.
Ted: That’s right. That’s – that’s good. That’s good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you’re in trouble, huh?
    [Hitchhiker convulses]
Hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody’s comin’ up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won’t even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
    Ted: That – good point.
Hitchhiker: 7’s the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that’s the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin’ on a branch, eatin’ lots of sunflowers on my uncle’s ranch. You know that old children’s tale from the sea. It’s like you’re dreamin’ about Gorgonzola cheese when it’s clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
    Ted: Why?
    Hitchhiker: ‘Cause you’re fuckin’ fired!

The advice in this video is not perfect.

Gr8 job man.Itz somewhat effective. How much days will it take to gt perfect six packs if ive already got 4 packs??

  27. Frank 21. May, 2008 at 10:39 pm #

This is a good routine. Simple and you can feel the burn. I also find that if you do exercises that don’t specifically target the abs you can also burn lots of belly fat. (exercises like squats, lunges, free weights) You just have to do them with an intensity to ratchet up your metabolism.

  28. casy 27. May, 2008 at 6:18 am #

good but how long will it tack

  29. Flat Stomach 10. Jun, 2008 at 12:28 pm #

This video suggest that only with these exercises you get a flat stomach. But there is much more needed, such as cardio for example

  30. dave 22. Aug, 2008 at 7:54 pm #

Well you will really want to think about doing lots of cardio as opposed to something like this if you have even a little belly fat – all the six packs in the world will be hidden behind fat, and in fact can make the fat stick out even more. This is the kind of exercise you should do if you are already very thin in the stomach region.

  31. How to Lose Belly Fat 26. Aug, 2008 at 12:16 pm #

Don’t forget a diet, exercise alone will not burn enough fat and you will not see your abs.

  32. Jrad 16. Sep, 2008 at 5:04 pm #

Sadly, if you do not possess less than 5% body fat, you could do 10,000 sit ups a day and you’ll never see those ‘ripped’ abs you see in the movies. You could have ripped abs, but if they’re covered in fat, no one would ever know by looking. And you can’t target weight-loss to one area by focusing on one muscle group. Generally, the first place you started gaining fat will be the last place that you’ll lose it from.

  33. Lose Fat First 27. Sep, 2008 at 2:07 am #

Maybe you should let people know that losing fat is the main priority here. Most people’s abs won’t show until they have 11% or less body fat. Building muscle is great, but if you want it to show…stop being a fat ass!

  35. Globalakif 22. Dec, 2008 at 5:42 am #

    Do crunches.
Start off with about 25- 30 crunches everday for the first week or two.
The third week start doing 35 to 45 per day
The fourth week do 45- 50 per day
The fifth week do 50- 55 per day
The sixth week do 55- 65 per day
The seventh week do 75 per day
Keep progressing but dont go over 80 unless you have been doing 75 for a long time because you may hurt yourself. Make sure you progress slowly or you can hurt yourself that way as well.

  39. Bowman 17. Sep, 2009 at 11:19 pm #

Technically you don’t even have to do ab workouts. You should be activating your core during all exercises… this in turn works your abs… all of them (int/ext obliques, transverse abs, rectus abdominus, etc…) not JUST the Quadratus Lumborum (6-pack abs) Most people think because they have 6-packs that they are strong… when in reality they are fairly weak and it will most likely cause structural problems later on because they are forgetting about the surrounding muscles in the ab region. If you want a decent workout… try looking at programs developed by Paul Chek or something… where all movements of the body are considered… not just specific muscles developed by machines and single movements. Nutrition of course in a must!

Abdominal exercises are great for strengthening and increasing the size of your muscles but in order to bring them out you need to combine them with effective fat burning exercises such as interval training.

The heavy training exercise that helps you build muscles will help you with abdominal fat loss. The best way to get rid of tummy fat is by combining all these elements – diet, cardio and weight training. Weight training leads to healthy muscle building. When you build muscles, it will automatically reduce body fat. This burning of fat happens everywhere in the body. Slowly, it will help you trim your waistline.
